Jimi's Star Spangled Banner.

I am listening to Jimi Hendrix’s Star spangled banner. It is wild and goes out on many limbs in a short period of time. It reflects the time and day it was recorded.

Young America yearning and breathing true freedom. It was 1969.

The end of a three day non stop party in the mud. When People left the concert to give birth, it was like leaving home. It’s a familiar melody, it took on new meaning. It was the end of a great era. What colors do I see? The mud browns and the grassy greens. And the off white litter on the field of that morning. The blonds and brunets, the hair of liberal proportions .I don’t remember the color of Jimi’s bandana or the color of his guitar, just that America was going through some real shit and having fun and just being free. It really was about Peace and Love and Music and the acid and the pot and the dawning of the age of Aquarius.(What ever that means). There was a war going on and everyone knew it was stupid.

I am listening to Jimi Hendrix’s Star spangled banner…I can hear violence in it, it has some scary moments. Some screeching and way far out there wobbling parts. Some fire works reminding us of gunfire.

Thinking and reading about the Woodstock 1999 concert riots I saw on Mtv. Concertgoers were tipping over vender stands and starting huge bon fires, they paid like 200$ a pop to get in. They were mad . People were sexually molested. They had to get corralled into flat bed trucks to be transported like livestock to the site. It was demeaning. The outrageous prices these concert goers paid for bottled water and commercial foods ,like pizza hut were disgusting 4$ a 12 oz. bottle of water, 12$ for a personal pan pizza. Advertisements everywhere. This was 9 years ago. And now there is a war going on and I hope the majority knows just how STUPID it really is.

Young America brain washed by video games. Programmed to kill. It is 2008.

Oh yeah! All that in few moments of music. We can never underestimate our affect on each other.
