Why I love Writing . . . and Why I love Ray Bradbury

I love writing for the discovery! Often when I sit down to write I have no idea what's going to come out. I put my "Self" aside and just let go.

In the video below, Ray Bradbury (author of Dandelion Wine, Fahrenheit 451, the Martian Chronicles) talks about his process of writing.

"In the instant of getting an idea, I go act it out on paper. I don't put it away, I don't delight, I don't put off until tomorrow doing what I must do, right now, to find out what my Secret Self needs, wants, desires, with all its heart and then it speaks and I have enough brains to get out of the way and listen."

New Moon and a New Workshop Session

The next Writing the Energetic Body class is starting on June 19th, the New Moon in Gemini (Gemini is and air sign and the sign of communication).

For this workshop we are going to start from the Crown and work our way down to the Root. I will encourage you to set an intention at the beginning of the session (and a great thing to do during the dark moon). The Crown is about Ideas, Spirit, Divine Inspiration. The Root is about Manifestation.

Chakra Explorations

Below are some of the topics or issues connected to the seven chakras:

  1st Chakra – This is our entrance into the earthly plane, our right to be in the world. Issues surround survival and our “tribe”.

  2nd Chakra – This is where we experience the power of relationships. We will explore pleasure, sexuality, emotions, and the desire to create.

  3rd Chakra – This is where we gain our sense of personal identity, power, and will. Who are you? What is your purpose?

  4th Chakra – We will open to compassion, self-acceptance, and love.

  5th Chakra – We will look at clear communication, self-expression, creativity and “Divine Will”. What happens when you speak your Truth?

  6th Chakra – We will explore perception, clarity of vision, and psychic ability. How do you see the world? How does intuition and imagination expand your life experience?

  7th Chakra – How do we understand the world? What is our connection to Higher Power? We will look at thought as the seed of manifestation and how the energy of this “ethereal” chakra can be brought “down to earth”.
